I am a recovering alcoholic who thought he had the answers to everything. My addiction to alcohol began to have physical repercussions and so I quit. I quit drinking, but never began to get SOBER (physically, mentally, and spiritually) until I began to open up to a counselor at New Insights II. I found things out about myself that I either didn't know, or never wanted to believe, which was disconcerting, but I also found HOPE in the future. I found out that being strong didn't mean NOT asking for help. I was encouraged to find strengths in my own self that I didn't know I had. I always was a good person, but my fears and bravado kept me from allowing me to be the BEST person I can be today. Tomorrow I believe I will be a smidge better. Thanks to all the staff at New Insights II I never felt like a "second class citizen" and I wasn't treated in a condescending manner. I wanted to become a healthier person, and I received amazing guidance and insight (ironically :) ) to forge a path using my past as learning experiences to build a better life on.
